Ava DuVernay and Autumn Riley

Ava DuVernay was born on August 24 1972 on the 24th of August 1972 in Long Beach California. When she was a young girl, DuVernay's aunt Denise was a great influence on her enthusiasm for the arts and her creative side. Her aunt worked the evening shift as a nurse so she could follow her passion of theater and literature in the daytime. DuVernay enjoyed the film West Side Story, which she taught her. DuVernay saw how art was a powerful tool to promote political activism. DuVernay was raised by parents who were well-informed and taught her how she could use the arts as a way to express herself. DuVernay spent her summers in Lowndes County Alabama, where her father was born and raised. DuVernay's dad recalled the civil rights protests on the Edmund Pettus Bridge and the close town of Selma Alabama. DuVernay would use the summers she was in Selma to help inspire her upcoming film, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. In the year 1990, DuVernay graduated from Saint Joseph High School in Lakewood California. She attended University of California Los Angeles to obtain degrees in English and African American Studies. DuVernay began to develop an interest in television journalism during her time as a college student. She began working as an intern at CBS News during the O.J. Simpson trial. DuVernay remembers being assigned to observe the house of one of the jurors of the jury and look through their trash. DuVernay was dissatisfied with her journalism tasks and decided that she would switch to the field of public relations. DuVernay started her career as a junior public relations assistant at a tiny film studio just after she had graduated from the college. She was promoted to the position and set up her own company for public relations that was named The DuVernay Agency in 1999. The agency has launched a wide range different lifestyle and promotional networks, including Urban Beauty Collective and Urban Eye. Autumn Riley.............................Autumn Riley was born in Los Angeles United States. Autumn Riley is born with the birth symbol. She is a performer, famous for American Experience (1987) and A More Perfect Union (2009). Autumn appeared as Rose as Rose in A More Perfect Union, and Anna Payne in American Experience.
